Reflecting on her creative journey, Catherin shares, “This specific body of work is inspired by living near Sydney’s beautiful harbour and beaches, and my diving adventures including those of Queensland’s stunning coral reefs. I create each unique piece using flowing inks and dry pigments to highlight the peaceful, ethereal beauty and fragility of underwater life and our planet.”

About Catherin Bennett:
As a Sydney-based artist, I explore the dynamics of contemporary figurative, landscapes, and abstract art. My multidisciplinary approach involves using a range of mediums and surfaces, including oil, acrylic, dry pigments, charcoal, pastel, ink, watercolours and recycled or salvaged materials, to infuse each piece with a unique personality. My latest series places a significant focus on sustainability, regeneration, and the protection of the environment, with a particular emphasis on our oceans. Through this body of work, I delve into themes of environmental consciousness, utilising a diverse range of mediums and techniques to express my emotions and perceptions of the world.
